Popular Post jacko45k Posted April 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 10, 2022 Used to be groups of them on the way to or from Bira. I have noticed road-checks on Hwy 36 just after the Railway bridge (going towards Sukhumvit) and on the railway line bypass heading North lately. The Bangkok drivers are more of a danger to others. 3
Popular Post Captain Monday Posted April 10, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 10, 2022 Modified vehicles are illegal in Thailand. Very simple, destroy them in a large industrial grinder. Charge the owners a recycling fee. If they do not pay dump the metal and plastic filings on their doorsteps. Of course the bank loans must be paid. 3 3 1
Popular Post mikebell Posted April 11, 2022 Popular Post Posted April 11, 2022 I was pulled over by Pattaya Plod on my first, brand-new motorbike about ten years ago. The guy, working alone in Jomtien, insisted I was guilty of driving with a non-standard exhaust (and a white face.) I was on my way home after picking it up from the showroom and my wife convinced him I had neither the tools or knowhow to change the exhaust en route to Bang Saray. 5

So are pick-up trucks allowed to have stupid wheel spacers and no mufflers....little Tonka tip trucks also...but they add 100 Michelin men stuck over their windows.:))? 3
Grusa Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 They haven't caught the basterd who starts up and races his megaphone at 2:00am on Sukhimvit outside my house. He can be heard all the way from NaJomtien to Sattahip and back, along with his nasty shrieking overrevving pals. At least three times a week. Nothing a machine gun post couldn't cure, permanently." 1 1
NoshowJones Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Well done Nongprue Police. Nice to see them doing their job. But what happens to the confiscated bikes? Do they get given back to their owners for the offences just to get repeated?

Is he just by himself? You stand and watch him outside your house, start up the bike and do nothing about it?
bang saen guy Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 This should lower traffic deaths during Songkran.

It's not in front of my house, it's at the back, and the road is 200metres away. And no, I don't see him or his pals, 'cos I ain't going to waste my time trying to catch him, or call plod. I have no idea who he is, or where he lives, nor any way to find out. So wind your neck in. Thank you. 5

RobU Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Sell the motorcycles to recoup the cost of the police operation or break them for spares and sell the spares. Crush the modified silencers (which is the usual 'illegal modification' ) and any other illegal parts with a steamroller as usual. Job's a 'gud' 'un. Good police work well done. I am not being facetious these stupid children can cause serious accidents and disruption on the road

No way I could tolerate that........I would find someone who could 'persuade' him to stop.......(breathing that is). 1 2

But the rims and the tyres are always none standard so it's an illegal modification. There's a couple of PCXs around here which are fitted with what I call pram wheels. They look ridiculous and I'm sure are quite unstable compared to the original fits. I just don't understand the mentality, especially as one of them belongs to a Master Sergeant in the Military Police!
