Interior Minister joined forest planting project in Udon Thani

Interior Minister Aree Wongaraya and a group of officials traveled to Udon Thani province today (Jun 16) and joined the forest planting project to celebrate His Majesty the King’s accession to the throne.

Mr. Aree presided over the ceremony of the forest planting project at Non Sa-at district of Udon Thani province. The ceremony was joined by a large number of government officials and members of the public. The project has been initiated in response to Her Majesty the Queen’s concern over the deforestation in Thailand as it is greatly affecting the local people’s lives. The project aims to restore and preserve five million rai of forest areas throughout the country. The project started 13 years ago.

As for Udon Thani, the province aims to restore 94,258 rai of forest areas, and only 1,724 rai of forest areas are left to be renovated. Once completed, Udon Thani will be the province to accomplish the project’s target.
