You're probably right. I mixed something up about the MG 4 replacement. Some posts above there is more information about the MG ES5 replacing the older models ZS EV, EP and ES. 

And at the December motor show MG had the IM LS6 on display with intention to sell it in Thailand 2025. However, this is not a 1:1 replacement for the MG4

Not that I know of.

For my Seal i use BYD Seal Thailand group and BYD Seal group, not ideal as the Thai group(s) are confusing due to translation.

The BYD Seal group is mainly European and Australian owners and has some good info on occasion.

 

The best you can hope for is similar for your car manufacturer or the various threads on here which is as close to an EV expat group in Thailand you will get i think.

Majority of Westerners stopped using Facebook years ago , so your unlikely to find  many if any EV expats in Thailand  facebook groups

Yes a great group here. There are many BYD Thai sites and sometimes OK information, but unless you want to practice your Thai skills, the translations to English are a bit hit and miss.

The Mukdahan dealer said last month, but that didn't happen.

Is there any way to see where I am on the Far Que?

I'm out of country for a few months so that leaves Wifey to  handle all the new EV, so if it doesn't come for awhile I think she will cancel and go back and get another Honda CRV.

She can check your queue number at the dealership but it wont specify when the car will arrive.

Sorry for asking, but what gives you advantage of a long range car with 500 km vs. MG4 D with roughly 300 km. Anyway on long trips you most likely have to charge in between (or if not, take a break for toilet and eating). During that time from my experience it is more than sufficient to make a quick charge from 20 to 80 %. Chargers are now available along all major roads and cities in Thailand. If you concerned about availability, PTTs EV station Pluz can be reserved in advance. 

 

I'm assuming you own an ICE car at the moment. Ditch it ! It will only cost you money in the long term (gasoline and maintenance) compared to an EV

You shouldn't put the MG4 D and the Wuling in the same class. There are worlds between those two cars. Just because the MG4 D is cheap doesn't mean it's a crap car.

One of those cars is sold at a reasonable price by the manufacturer, the other has a grossly inflated price by the importer who wants a high profit margin.

How come the price of Wuling Air EV in Thailand is cheaper than in Indonesia?

If needing info for our MG, I'd simply go to MG or one of the MG forums.  From my experience with FB Groups (drones & photography), I didn't take very long to go from the dumbest person in the room, to the smartest.

 

Not much different from AN, when thinking about it.  Old grumpy members stuck in the past, knowledge & tech wise, and think they are current, when in reality, they're dinosaurs.  

 

Wasn't it a FB group that we found the info about the 2019 MG ZS having a battery moisture issue, along with the fix, and also that the new 2022 ZS now being IP67 ?

Are you describing yourself there, sounds like it, you couldn't even keep the simplicity of an MGB on the road......................🤭

Oh crap ... you're back, and memory sharp as ever ...

... I never owned a MGB, thankfully not that stupid

... that was my brother, and never had a problem keeping it running.

... problem was the amount of money & time to keep it running

... I buy new, and being a LPOS, I even took the ICEV to the dealer to change the oil.

 

Not that I couldn't replace the whole drivetrain in a day, if parts where available and ready for a swap out.  I've done all in days past;  engine, trans, drive shaft/U-joints (sadly the hardiest (shimming) & rears.  Not all at once in the past, but have done all, at least once.

 

Now move along, one who doesn't even own a vehicle

So as you are not an old dinosaur member, ,  if you get a problem with your electric MG car, you will get your toolbox out and fix it....?   🤔

I won't have to concern myself with that for about 6 years, as battery is under warranty for 8 years, and 2 down.  Life expectancy being 20 or 40 yrs, depending what propaganda you read.

 

Doubtful the motors will have any issue, or the battery for that matter, within mine or the wife's lifetime.  

 

The rest of the car, if needing something, yes, the dealer would be doing the work, as stated enough times, I'm a LPOS.  Don't have the tools to do anything anyway.

 

Only played mechanic on vehicles in the past, because I was too poor to pay a mechanic to do.  Not a problem now, or been the last 40 yrs, as could afford newer cars that didn't break down.  Can't remember last time I had to fix something.  Maybe a water pump on my Maxima, means 1994 maybe.  Remember swapping that out before it crapped out.  Prior to that, might have been 40 years since I actually worked on a car, besides basic tune up.
