Sisaket governor Wattana Wutthichart sent in his deputies along with the police to the temple of Wat Nikhom Soi 3 in Wang Hin district.

There they found monks called Krittima, 36, and Atichart, 48, who both admitted doing drugs. One pill remained in Krittima's quarters.

Krittima said it was his and also admitted to owning a Thai made .22 gun that was recovered along with 24 rounds of ammunition, reported INN.

No drugs were found in Atichart's room but there was drug taking equipment.

With them was Sathaporn, 29, who had two blue plastic bags of yaba containing 314 pills hidden in a door panel in his Honda Civic parked outside.

He admitted everything.

The case followed complaints from residents in the area of Soi Nikhom 3 and 4.

They said that in the early days of the pandemic the two monks had arrived and been given permission to stay there as the temple was empty.

But they started using the temple as a drug den and distribution point for themselves and local youth.

There were also reports of gunfire from the temple.

Both monks were defrocked then charged along with the lay person in the case.

I thought they were taken orally?

The whole monk scene seems full of errant monks these days. Drugs, guns, booze , women. Problem is they have a system where anyone can become a monk to make amends for something - quite sure the only time I was around criminals in Thailand was when 9 of them turned up to marry my first wife and myself.

"Monks used NE temple as drug den and yaba distribution point"

It just a simple confusion....they were doing their job...their job of facilitating connection with God and I can bet more people have seen god with Yabaa than without.....:stoner:

oh no, they will have to be ordained as monks in another temple to make merit for this sin

I'm betting this is going on more than have been discovered.

Hey Hey we're the Monkees people say we monkey around but we're to busy taking Yaba and shooting our guns in town ????

Damn.  The Christian youth group never sold us any amphetamines back in the day... ????

Fake claim--monks only follow Buddha teaching.
