VIETNAM-TOURISM-BRIDGE_1807a3f8249_original-ratio.jpg.1035fc0aeb8ad2e8c2569de068daa3db.jpg

The world’s longest glass bridge in the northern province of Son La, spanning 632 meters between mountains, attracted 15,000 visitors in the first three days.

VN Express reported that there was a lengthy line when the bridge was opened on Saturday, the first day of the four-day Reunification Day break.

Holiday tickets cost VND650,000 ($28.31) apiece for adults and VND450,000 for children, VND100,000 higher than normal days, yet visitors said the views were "satisfying" and "magnificent".

Hoang Thi Nhu, a representative of Moc Chau Island Tourist Area that operates the bridge, said it attracted more than 4,000 visitors on the first day and 15,000 after three days.

Named Bach Long (white dragon), the bridge in Son La, around two hundred kilometers from Hanoi, is expected to be one of the province's most important tourism highlights.

The relative height between the bridge deck and the ground is about 150 meters.

The bridge's deck is made of super tempered glass produced by leading French company Saint Gobain, including three layers of forty millimeters thick.

The entire cable car system was imported from South Korea.

Only five hundred people are allowed to walk on the bridge at a time to ensure safety.

Procedures are in place to apply for the glass bridge’s Guinness World Records recognition as the world’s longest.
