Thai Rath reported on an ostentatious Thai wedding with some unusual trappings in Songkhla in the south of Thailand.

 

Many people stopped to take pictures by the side of the road as the wedding procession proceeded from a temple in Lamphlai sub-district to the home of the bride, the Mae Manee restaurant in Theppha district. 

 

In the procession were no less than 8 Hummer trucks, 2 Mercedes benz sports cars and many other vehicles.

They were carrying the 1 million baht dowry, diamond rings and 20 baht weight in gold.

 

Getting married were Nawapho Khaothong or Singto, 25, and his bride Pannathorn Khamphitak, also 25.

Singto is the son of Lamphlai mayor Lek Khaothong and Pannathorn is the daughter of the owners of the themed tourist restaurant, Anan and Ranya Khamphitak. 

 

The happy couple were pictured in one of the restaurant's "selfie picture taking attractions" - a mock Eiffel Tower.

Not a lot ,for a HiSo wedding , there was more for the wedding

of 2 diamond eye cats a few years ago

Congratulations tho' one wonders if the Hummer and Eiffel tower replica have deeper esteem issue meanings.

Rather a takky affair.
