Hi All

Done my visa extension in Feb. The extension started about a month later.

So how long must I keep 800k in the bank? And is it from the date the extension is done or the date the visa starts? Confused ????

Thanks again

Three months after the extension date.

The rules state from the day you apply for the extension of stay.

Usually that is the same day as the extension date.

I've done 9 extensions and never once been foolish enough to leave it until the last day..

Your comment is irrelevant to my post!

Extension date is the date stamped into your passport after you apply for an extension. Usually the same day as your application.

The other stamped date is the date of the expiration of the new extension.

Example:

Extension application date

Oct 15

Extension expiration date

Nov 15

The three months at 800K rule in this  example starts from Oct 15 NOT Nov 15.

The rules state.

"3 months after being granted permission"

which is probably the same as Joe said.

Its what I said too.

I was mirroring the language in the question from the author.

I am sorry if anyone misunderstood.

Again.

You go in to apply for an extension.

If approved THAT is the relevant date for the 800k three month rule.

NOT the date that the new extension begins.

So if you go in a month early, its three months from that earlier date.
