Halting a popular topic

Featured Replies

Recently there was a popular topic concerning " A challenge to Boris Johnson's leadership " . For some reason the Asean admin brought an end to the topic which was proving to be a popular topic with some good opinions . Can the admin explain why this topic was aborted ?

There also was this similar prior, outdated news thread that the OP may be referring to:

In both cases, those prior threads were closed because they anticipated a future challenge to Boris Johnson's leadership.

Later, when that challenge actually occurred and then even later failed, subsequent news reports and new threads on those developments superceded the earlier threads on the topic and the forum discussions continued there.

That's why the earlier threads were closed, as if often our practices when dealing with developing news stories. And the closed threads included links to the later threads with the newer/current developments.

The newer/current threads on the UK PM's situation are here:

and here:

Was it this topic.

Thanks for your explanation , however the topic , although superseded by events , remained a popular topic with members statements waiting for challenges and / or replies . There was of course some digression from the topic which is often the case when there is a political theme and the emerging discussions ,   from those with opposing views  , are often enjoyable .

Not quite but in a similar vein

I had a topic closed in the Farang Pub  as it was "not Thailand related"

Fair enough if that was the case but as there are many topics in the Farang Pub that are equally "not Thailand related" that have not been closed what is the exact criteria?

Thanks
