Can a 30 day visa exempt entry be extended once in Thailand? I need another 7 days.

You can apply for a 30 day extension.

You can also switch to a different type of Visa. For example:- I find the easiest way to enter Thailand is the 30 day exempt which I then convert to 1 year Non O Retirement.

Extension question has been answered but beware your airline may refuse you boarding if you can't show a return or onward ticket within 30 days.

The second part of that process after exempt entry would be to obtain a non O visa giving permission of stay of 90 days and in  the last 30 days obtain 12 month extension based on retirement.
