Three dead, including two 14-year-old boys, after a sedan crashes into a motorbike in Ban Bueng

Ban Bueng – Three people died, including two young teenage boys, after a sedan crashed into a motorbike in Ban Bueng earlier this week.

 

Emergency responders were notified of the accident yesterday (June 12th) in the Nong Chark sub-district. They arrived at the scene to find two bodies of 14-year-old boys near the damaged motorbike.

Really terrible, it's a waste when youth is getting crushed on the roads, 14 year old?? Bikes?? Atleast in car, you have a chance, Bike is just so dangerous here.

The sedan crashed into the back of the motorbike before the sedan flipped over, although the fault of the accident was still being discussed.

 

Hold the driver in prison until sorted in my opinion, then chuck the book at him for manslaughter.

The kids were too young to be out on a motorcycle at 14. 

The sedan driver is dead.

High speed, teens, drivers no wearing seat belt and either probably high on something, the right cocktail for such calamities...

Two teenage girls on a scoopy shot out in front of me from a side street the other day. They were laughing and giggling at something and clearly had not looked to see if the coast was clear. Fortunately I am a slow driver. Had it been a speeding pickup common on that road they would have been toast.

Yes, similar to me as I crossed Klang from Yume into Arrunathai in the truck,. They went through a red to make a left turn off Klang. I had nowhere to go with traffic in the other lane.... agree with the 'be slow' sentiment.

Sadly although the outcome is dead people, what coiuntry allows TWO 14 year olds out on a road. Oh I know where enforcement is poor 9 Thailand ). Lack of driving Licence ..no p[roblem 9 Thailand ). Probably lack of Insurance ..also NO problem  ( Thailand ) .

If the Boys are illegal it is their fault 100%. If however they were legal , Licence, ions, Tax, then a peculiar situation

Pulling out of a junction last night and six boys, 10 to 13 at a guess, came flying along on three motorbikes...........flat out.

 

No lights.

 

I'm Thai. I want to die.

Your spot on! Anything I can do to increase my reaction time is good. Driving slowly and on the least dangerous line in the road is always a calculation to keep making as I drive.

Easy to judge eh ?  Yet witnesses stated that the motorcycle was travelling "at high speed.

Always a possibility that their actions contributed to the accident by undertaking /swerving etc.

Yup....thats why I am a slow driver and at junctions I check and double check in every direction because there are too many kamikazi road users out there. 

 

Last year , just exiting our soi I forgot this practice and only checked to see if anything was coming from the right. Nothing. As i edged out, wife screamed and young boy shot past in front of me at about 40 kph coming from the hard shoulder on the left. Missed me by inches. Turned out to be 11 year old son of an acquaintance of wifes , no license no insurance wearing flip flops.

 

A wake up call for me. Haven't forget to double check since then.

So the bike was speeding yet the old fella managed to hit it from behind, kill the two boys and himself..

Impressive.

Hope you never get into a serious accident here. The cause is unknown and it might even be because of the boys. Keep kids under 18 off motorbikes first, that would help. Many times I almost crashed into something because a motorcycle cut me off at a corner... 

 

The kids were speeding and who knows what else happened. Maybe no tail lights?

Seems everyone has to do their high speed these days. Likely no helmets, and no seat belt for the sedan driver,

  is this still the typical attitude? Sadly just another day on the Thailand highways.
