Phuket Air begins Bangkok-London flights from July 1

Phuket Air, Thailand's leading private airlines, operating the second largest fleet in the country, launched its Bangkok-Chittagong-Dubai service, linking major Asian cities to the gateway to the Middle East with Boeing 747-200 and Boeing 757 available three times a week on every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday announced its Bangkok-London-Bangkok service from yesterday.

Every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, flight will start from Bangkok at 0100 hrs and arrive at London Gatwick at 1000 hrs local time, said a press release, issued by Nora Travels Ltd, GSA for Phuket Airlines in Bangladesh yesterday.

The press release said the launch of Bangkok-London-Bangkok service is a remarkable move for Phuket Air in extending its international services and offering greater conveniences to passengers who travel between Bangkok and London. The traffic to and from these cities has been increasing rapidly in the past year and is likely to grow in future.

"Providing that Chittagong is the commercial capital of Bangladesh and the centre of import and export, while Bangkok is a hub and gateway to all the countries in the East, we have strong confidence in the near future of this service."

Nora Travels Co. Ltd is the GSA for Phuket Air in the country. With office in Dhaka and Chittagong, passengers will enjoy greater convenience and easier access to the direct flight to Dubai and Bangkok, and also now to London.

Since Phuket Air is connecting Chittagong with Bangkok, the gateway to other countries, it is hoped that huge number of tourists can be attracted to Phuket Air network from different parts of the world. Bangladesh will definitely benefit as Phuket Air will promote its Chittagong destination to the world's tourists.

Chittagong is the second largest city in Bangladesh, and also the country's commercial capital city. As it is the home to large industries, both of seaport and airport, as well as the centre of export and import. With its green hills and forests, beaches and friendly people, Chittagong is a very attractive destination for holiday-makers.

Established in January 2001 to correspond with the Thai government's "Open Sky" policy, Phuket Air is a leading private airline and operates the country's second largest fleet of 14 aircraft--6 Boeing 747-300, three Boeing 737-200s, 1 Boeing 757 and four YS-11s.
