The House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol reconvened Tuesday for the next in a series of public hearings this month. This hearing is set to focus on former President Donald Trump's efforts to pressure officials in Arizona and Georgia to overturn the 2020 election results.

Committee chair Rep. Bennie Thompson said in his opening statement that "pressuring public servants to betray their oaths was a fundamental part" of Trump's "playbook."

Thompson said Trump's pressuring of these election officials was based on the "big lie."  "The lie hasn't gone away. It's corrupting our democratic institutions," Thompson added, specifically noting that a New Mexico county official refused to certify the recent primary results.

...

Three Republicans, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, Gabriel Sterling, chief operating officer for the secretary of state's office, and Arizona House Speaker Rusty Bowers, testified first.

Bower's testimony was powerful, but it pales in comparison to the testimony of the two election officials, Ruby Freeman and her daughter, Shaye Moss.  It's difficult to believe that a sitting president would target two people who were doing their job and had done nothing wrong or illegal and were never accused by actual officials of any wrong doing, never charged, never even reprimanded and yet had their lives turned upside down.  Why they don't sue Trump for defamation is beyond belief.

So democrat politicians are betting the American people take their eyes off inflation, gas prices, crime, southern border for the upcoming elections. My opinion only,

For 4 yrs we heard nothing but Trump's going to jail. So put him there so we can get over this nonsense and start taking care of the American people and things that really matter.

Even Fox News admitted that this latest hearing demonstrates clearly that there was never any evidence of election fraud.  Yet, the sheep in Trumpworld continue to believe.

[Fox News anchor Martha MacCallum on Tuesday said that witnesses testifying before the House select committee investigating the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol are laying out a “huge, stunning and clear moment” showing a lack of evidence to support former President Trump’s claims of an unfair election in 2020.]

Agree.  It was horrible what happened to these women who were just doing their jobs.  If there was ever a case for defamation, this is it.  But Trump's army of lawyers won't give them much of a chance.  If he's ultimately convicted....maybe.
