I've not seen any reports on these new appointment schedules for visa extensions.

Normally, it takes 6- 8 hours from arrival and collection of queue number to completion (waiting and process).

The new appointment time slots remove the need to waiting and even lays out a time for the process itself. See the immigration police website for details.

It gives the time to process of just 15 minutes for my "expert" visa extensions. I notice that retirement visa extensions are given 1 hour to process. The 15 minutes seems fanciful; it normally takes 30 to 45 minutes with two to three different stages of officers.

Has anyone experienced this yet? It would be a remarkable improvement if it actually functions.

It works a treat.

Make sure that you are 15 minutes+ early.

Often you are seen early.

Make sure that you take hard copy print out of your email appointment confirmation.

Personally I like to go hour + prior to appointment to obtain bank letter etc.

Walk straight to counter indicated on appointment

Do not go to main desk for queue number.

Today for 1030 appointment L counter (retirement extension income method).

Contact counter 1013 (processing person)

Wait until about 1023

Finnish 1038

Receive passport 1115

Paperwork submitted:

Passport/bankbook

Copies passport/arrival card/bankbook signed

Bank letter of account balance

Bank one year statement

Copy TM30 receipt

Copy TM47 receipt

3 signed forms required by CW

Edit:  Google map of home.

Arrived early and obtained bank letter/made copy of last passbook page, obtained extension forms from service desk at immigration and filled out what required - then waited until about 15 mins before extension time (as was required last year).  This year no check entering L counter area so early may be OK.

Bank one year statement

Thanks for clear report.

Regarding the "one year bank statement"

Are you using money in bank method and just provided a bank statement?

I have always only required photocopies of bankbook pages at CW.
