I'm just wondering how many people smoke kratom as a alternative to ganja, I'm in a small village, all the women chew it, the men smoke it, they say it helps with stress and pains after a hard day's work. I've recently come out of hospital and have been in so much pain I thought well if it's good for them give it a try, it's no cure for pain or illness but it does ease a lot of aches and pains, any thoughts? 

Ask the hospital for pain killers.

Smoking anything risks damaging your lungs. Period.

I have chronic bronchitis (COPD) and it is not fun.

But hey - as the cannabis lovers keep saying - smoking cannabis is harmless, so suck away.

Very sorry to hear that.

If you are still in pain I'd suggest that your doctor needs to adjust your meds.

Start a topic in the health section. There are a few real experts there, and maybe people who have been through similar issues who can help.

Thanks for the info, hospital gave me a bucket full of tablet's and 3 months morphine, sadly nothing more that they can do. As they say life goes on. ????????

I just contacted my brother in the UK. He uses Transec bupremorphine 52.5 ug/h transdermal patches (5 micrograms up). The advantage of patches is they give a more consistant dose (even better than slow release tabs). It did take a while to get the correct dosage - too strong can make him feel very unwell. Also, alcohol tends to mess up the effects, but occasional weed does not - for him.

 

Not sure if such patches are available here.

Indeed my sympathies. You have nothing to loose by studying GcMAF.

My friend, stage 3 cancer bought a juicer and went on a strict diet of

vegetables and a little bicarb of soda. Could this have cured him, one

cannot say, but he is alive and kicking 5 years on.

It is also well known that vegetables are boring and horrible but good for you.

I think it would not really matter anymore what I eat when the body is riddled with cancer, the only thing that function's is my head at the moment, saying that I'm starting to forget things which really annoying, can't believe how quickly I can happen, came back from holiday in March and now it's like being on death row just waiting.

Once again thanks, the patches you mentioned are not available here, I would try anything for a night's sleep with out pain, wife is working wonders, 3 morphine injections a day +god knows what tablets, once the body gets use to the medication it starts to not function properly and the only way is to take stronger doses and then your back to square 1,can't believe it happens so quickly, holiday in March and now it's like being on death row only I'm not going to be waiting years. Not sure if I'm making sense once the drugs kick in I'm all over the place.

There are many other options for pain, however. Fentanyl patches, nerve blocks, implanted nerve inhibitors to name but a few.

 

You need to get under the care of a palliative/pain management specialist. Where in Thaland are you?

No smoke is harmless, you are correct, however no death has ever been related to cannabis use, none, not by being baked and jumping off a building, nor by COpD from smoking it, unlike killer hyper-addictive tobacco. I think Kratom smoking is Weird AF! 

Itried raw leaf chewing which is vile and a chore, dried powdered did absolutely nothing for me at any dose, again, its vile disgusting stuff even in a shake, maybe smoking could work? A kratom and weed roach perhaps?

Try to see Assoc. Prof. Srivieng Pairojkul directly through the "after hour" clinic (clinic nawk wela)

 

I do not have any firsthand feedback on this place but should surely do more for you than the hospital you have been to.

 

If you can get to Bangkok, I highly recommend the Palliative Care team at Bangkok Hospital (in Bangkok):

Among the measures they might advise are 1) fentanyl patch (gives continuous blood level of analgesia and then morphine can be used for any breakthrough pain)  (2) nerve blocks (they can identify the nerve(s) that are transmitting the pain and either ablate or numb them)  (3) radiation therapy (not to cure but to shrink specifically areas of tumor that press on nerve)  (4) transcatheter embolization.

 

There are other places/doctors  in Bangkok as well but an advantage to  Bkk Hospital is that, once a treatment plan for pain management is developed, you can probably arrange to get follow-up/med refills at one of the upcountry affiliates i.e. Bangkok Ratchasima or  Bangkok Khon Kaen (whichever is closest).
