Naew Na Thai Caption: How'd you get there? GPS strikes again with car on a high bridge

Naew Na published a video that appeared on the Facebook page of Thanaporn Yaiong of a car trying to cross Klong Mahachai near the temple of Wat Sophanaram.

It got half way across before motorcyclists sounded their horns to remind the driver the high bridge was not appropriate for cars.

The driver reversed.

The media speculated that it was another case of an out of town driver following GPS instructions.

The bridge is for pedestrians and bikes only.

The post said it happened at 9am on Sunday.

OMG, that's my Mrs.

She's always blaming her GPS

Definitely a candidate for this years Darwin award ..........................LOL

Having to reverse is a Thai drivers worst nightmare. I remember when taking my driving test here. They have not a clue. Traffic cones being run over and squashed under the rear wheels.

Mind you, to be honest, I am now not much better.

Google is not at its best lately.. Gave me some strange detours also. Luckily i knew better.

Don't forget bong found in the front seat.

Happens in the UK. Regular reports of Lorry drivers stuck on narrow road turnings in villages are common. In one case a car driver was directed over a cliff, Unlike Thailand, the local authorities ensured barriers and warning signs were in place, so he didn't actually go over. Coastal erosion on the East coast had taken the road many years ago but it was still on the Sat Nav's map????????

Not marked that it is for motorcycles only and it is obviously wide enough for a car

Some navigation systems have various settings and one of it is, if the route is to be displayed for walking, bicycling or cars ............

One simple ''no cars sign'' and one bollard in the middle should have been fitted.

i prefer to ignore the Gmaps/GPS lately
so many times it tells you to turn or u-turn where motobikes just cut across etc
also for some reason always wants to change my route to tollways
even when it does not save any time

I was  thinking that but if driver is on some app. he would miss the bollard , I say miss ' What 'appen '.
