77kaoded reported from the Khong Chang See Road in Muang district of Krabi in southern Thailand where a tree fell on high powered electric cables.

It caused a fire and considerable consternation of passersby.

Local provincial electrical engineers cut power and later used a crane to remove the tree before making repairs.

Soil erosion from continual heavy rains was blamed for the tree toppling over.

Fortunately it happened out in the countryside away from dwellings.
