i would say a case could be made that gentler handling would keep more of the tricomes intact and so yes it might in fact be stronger. however weed is also nicer to interact with physically when it isn't compressed. packing a bowl is nicer.  grinding is easier or altogether unnecessary. aesthetics are just gravy.

Mature dense buds in Pattaya At mature dense prices too. As stated above, I have tried a few of these expensive exotics and felt more comfortable with the one that you label as garbage.

Can't say I care about the way it looks or tastes.

The end result is all that counts.

Same with wine or beer.

Just trying vacuum packing my flower.

Totally crushed flat.

Different strokes and all that, so Archa beer, Siam Sato, Laos Khaow? Laos Khaow has spectacular end results!

Shape and colour of bottle is not the same category as compressed vs well manicured buds.  Not even close. right?  Not even the same topic is it?

I'm not too proud to smoke brick weed but I'd prefer a nice manicured bud of Wedding Cake any day.

It's exactly the same if you're vacuum sealing the flowers.

And once ground to put in a joint nobody would know.

If you're growing, it's one of the few options for long term storage.

You did not actually reply to my points, you instead led the discussion a different direction. As usual.

Go vacuum seal your large 40 gram harvest for Long Term Storage.  ????

I've She's got another 300gms to harvest and dry this month.

So far I've  she's only vacuum packed 1 bag with 15gm.

Add to that the 200gm in jars from last year, the 100gm in jars from this year, and the other 20 plants all flowering at the moment and storage becomes a significant problem.

It seems a shame to throw it all away.

Can't understand the current high prices, everyone growing must be producing far more than they can consume, 250bht+/gm is madness.

Not sure who "she" is but I'd process that into bubble hash.

For quality indoor, dried and cured, 250/gram is probably a decent wholesale price. Not sure why you're even concerned about prices given how proficient  you are as a grower? I think you boasted about growing 50 ounces "last year".

Which has got to be the cheapest you'll get.

There will be a few conditions attached ...........

When all this started, if i remember correctly some were charging around 1000 per gram, and astonishingly some people were actually paying that much for it !  Unbelievable,   It must be the first time that a substance actually became more expensive after it was legalised ,

Even 250 baht per gram is, as you rightly say,  absolute madness. any body suggesting otherwise is probably involved in the supply, either that or they have just been conditioned to paying ridiculous prices, due to coming from countries where prohibition has artificially inflated the price of a  plant which is no more difficult to grow than a tomato plant or any other vegetable, and as such, in my opinion,  should be priced accordingly.

Likewise if you end up with a bit too much its no big deal to give a bit away to "friends and family" just like when the mango trees all flower together , or just bin it lol

Had it never been illegal in the first place, it would probably be sold quietly in the local markets at around 5 baht a bag, by the same old women who sell the betel nuts and accompanying paraphernalia. As far as I 'm concerned that's kind of how it should be.  Can't say I'm a fan of the designer, neon lit "dispensaries"

Just to put things into perspective , I'm In the Uk at the moment and an ounce of weed is costing me £200 which is not much more than 250bt a gram.  It breaks my heart after paying 400 bt for 100g of brick

People charging or promoting those sort of prices are not doing us any favours

Don't throw it away. I like outdoor buds - send me a pm if you want to sell some .

I bought this at a night market in Pattaya. 20 grams for 200 baht. It's cheaper in larger quantities. I wouldn't call it premium, but it's very good. Has a few seeds. It's also sold in a brick form for about the same price.

I don't know what strain it is, wasn't labeled and I didn't ask. They only had 2 similar looking varieties. It was a small market. I've found much better prices at outdoor markets or sidewalk vendors, for average and premium stuff.

The sad  fact is, for many  it probably does ,  We have all heard of the "placebo effect"  its a well known medical phenomenon, in this case it has a much stronger effect , as its generally accompanied by the reluctance to accept that one has paid over the odds for something, I remember the advert for Stella lager "reassuringly expensive" was the phrase they used .  Throw in the encouragement of a few "experts" and a bit of herd mentality and  many sadly  fall for it

Same with the shape and colour of the bottle and even the label and the name printed on it , none of that has come about by accident,  packaging is a key part of  "Advertising and Marketing" which, like hypnosis,  seems to have a profound effect on certain people people, and again herd mentality does the rest These days there are also the excruciatingly annoying internet influencers spreading the b/s too .

Despite what many believe, the alcohol in VSOP  Brandy , Absolute Vodka, and Lao Khao is chemically identical

However, as I said , some people are more resistant to hypnosis than others,  this would explain why some, like us,  were  happy with 400bt lumps of brickweed ,   But did you notice the  pack like  mentality with all the negative comments that were posted  regarding brickweed  , by people who were obviously subconsciously regretting paying over the odds for their designer bud  . Did you also notice that  It was about that time that a few "experts" appeared on here, reinforcing the benefits of "top price weed" and some  also telling us how difficult it was to grow "properly"?

Price reflects quality I have found. I don't see a single trichome on those buds so that is probably a fair price for that stuff.

I have said it before and will say it again, premium craft-grown weed costs more because it is looks better, tastes better, smokes better and is normally much stronger with better effects than bush weed.

To achieve all of that takes skill, effort and time, which most local growers don't have or won't commit to.

It is then up to the consumer to decide whether they pay for that superior product or not.

14 hours ago, Bday Prang said:

Premium weed is extremely difficult to grow properly, which is why it commands a higher price.

Also, I will add that most commercial growers will not grow the best strains but only those with the most yield, which is why you see so much of the same stuff being sold everywhere. Quantity over quality.

If you want really good weed you have to look for those places selling premium craft-grown stuff in fairly low quantities.

I would never buy pot from someone who says pot  ground into powder is the future... Clearly looking for naive customers.

I can see trichomes on it in the photo. Like the other guy said, they tend to fall off. Unless you're handling each bud with tweezers and placing them in Mason jars. This is very good, inexpensive weed. It smells great, it's sticky and packs a good buzz. I'm just showing there is good weed available here for low prices.

This I bought at another night market down towards Sattahip. It's not the cheapest, but very reasonably priced. It was 40 baht /gram, with discounts the more you buy. This is a 6 gram bag for 200 baht. He had about 6 varieties. The most expensive was 280 baht /gram.

IMG_20230129_152800.jpg

This is the cheapest weed I've bought here, I've only been here 2 months. It's brick weed. My GF's niece bought it for me when we were visiting the north section of Thailand, all farm country there. It was 100 baht. Not sure what the weight was, I smoked about half of it. Must have been 10 or 20 grams. Definitely not the best, but it's not bad either. I wouldn't turn my nose up at brick weed if it's priced well. A lot of the sidewalk and market vendors sell brick weed. I think Thai people are used to compressing it into bricks.
