Trump Declares 'Liberation Day' as Sweeping Tariffs Take Effect
I was reading that China has banned sales of gallium, germanium and antimony to the U.S. Doesn't seem like a big deal to some but they are used in the production of semiconductors and also a wide range of military and technological applications. China currently controls over 90% of EV battery grade graphite and those have been subject to export controls since last year. China also controls 60% of the world's rare earth elements, but more importantly, 90% of the processing capacity. This is becoming interesting. -

UK Turkish Barber Shops: How Criminal Gangs Use Them to Launder Money
A former RUC officer once told me that, in the UK, the counterfeit DVD industry was largely driven by the IRA as a way to launder drug money, to enable them to purchase American weapons. NORAID were preparing the seed money for the drug purchases. So American money was financing drug cartels which were funding terrorism which were funding Colt and Browning. And people post on this forum about where to buy counterfeit Chinese vapes in Thailand, and consider smuggling to be a victimless crime. -

Hua Hin immigration online appointment - dead ?

The Bizarre Source of POTUS' Tariff Obsession
These charts do not show that Democrats, or for that matter, most Americans "China is the cause of America’s relative decline." No doubt there is a strong element of hostility based on economics. Especially lately considering how China's economic policies do little to boost internal consumer demand but instead focus on exports as a way of digging itself out of the economic hole it has dug for itself. But there are other reasons to disapprove of China. And it isn't only Americans who disapprove of China. https://www.pewresearch.org/global/2023/07/27/views-of-china/
