What's in it for Chuwit to be publicizing this sort of thing?

1. To keep his name in the news?

2. Because he cares about public morality?

3. Because he wasn't cut in?

4. Because he despises the RTP and wants to show he's justified?

5. Because his constant theme is that the country runs on corruption and this is the latest prime example?

6. Because in his old age he's a joy killer?

7. He dislikes the power and influence of Chinese entrepreneurs?

I'll go for number 5 above.

My best guess:

Quote

It's called "ท." he said. That would mean it starts with a "T".

It's on "ร." - a road starting with an "R". Ratchadapisek

It's at the "ห." intersection. Words that start with this letter could start with an H, or many other letters for that matter! Huai Kwang

It's in the "ส." police jurisdiction. That means it starts with an "S". Suttisan

It's run by a Chinese man known as "David".

TRIAD,  you want quality this is what comes with it.  He speaks because  even with his past " patriotic " he see his country losing control it has gone beyond the police like in China their top government leaders.

Thailand is the wild west, everyone's thirst for corruption, prostitution, copying, now marijuana and gambling is.a breeding ground with a untrained and inept police force. One thing lost is the amount of drugs and guns that is here.

When it comes to money being made a war is coming they are lucky because although Triads are a large group they are splinter.

Yes I got that far too, then I came up short with any pub/establishment/soapy beginning with T.

I'll be going to "K" today for "X". Might take "L" with me. Consume a "J" or two.

I do like a challenge ????

The road starting with "ร." could be Ratchadaphisek Road

"ห." intersection = Huay Khwang intersection on that road

"ส." police jurisdiction is Sutthisan police jurisdiction (who have jurisdiction over that area)

What the actual pub name is, I have no idea, but with 3 correct answers above, I claim my free night of debauchery and drugs at said pub, (if I can find it!)

Scrub all that!  I just saw the previous post!!

My best guess was just reading the OP.

ASEAN NOW notes that Suthisan police station is in downtown Bangkok and the main thoroughfare of Rachada Phisek runs through it.

Thailand is rooted in corruption and will always be, unless the youth are taught better. Nothing happens in Thailand without little envelopes being passed around. Certin law enforcements agencies have been called out numerous times on this very platform for being corrupt, Joe Farri and the ones running a extortion schemes in night life areas. You have to start at the top and follow the Baht downwards.

Hardly news to those that live here that the BiB are involved in corruption or the drug trade and you can add just about every other illegal activity to those.

"They" didn't shut down the park, he did (the park that he donated the use of to the public free, from which he made nothing).  Then he sold the lease for a lot of money for development.  Nothing to do with the police.

As far as "deadening people's lives on Sukhumvit" is concerned that garden has been closed to the public for 6 years.

As a former resident of Soi 10, I can tell you the closure of his park did deaden the lives of locals to a degree.  The fact that its been closed for 6 years does not diminish the impact it had on residents of Soi 10 who used the park every day for exercise, socializing or just relaxing out of the din of Sukhomvit.  More closures all the time, each one deadening the character of inner Sukhomvit until it becomes just another faceless street full of high rises.

Independent restaurants all over the area.  Pomodoro, Mrs. Balbir to name a few.  As with change anywhere, it rarely is for the better.

One has to be very careful when dialling the Chinese because there are so many Wings and so many Wongs, you might Wing the Wong number!

The old ones are always the best.
