Mae Hong Son

Thank you. This makes me wonder why someone does not write Mae Hong Son when he or she means Mae Hong Son.

The 6 million baht has been found to have been remitted to third party accounts before it found its way into the policeman's and his family's accounts as well as that of co-conspirators, police allege.

Hopefully the people involved in paying the bribes to get get this criminal on the streets will also face justice.  They are just as corrupt as the officials taking bribes.

Why Prayut not make some crackdown on corruption in the RTP??

The history books I've read make the point that the RTP and the military are two separate entities, two different independent franchises if you like. And they've always been in competition over which has the most power in the country. This gets into areas that no one wants to discuss, and they sure don't want to clarify it for us. So it's a conundrum whether Prayut doesn't want to crack down, or in reality can't.

For those on the forum who rushed to research the name "Patel" in order to

observe that the name originates in Gujurat, I will point out that I once worked

alongside a certain Mr Bhikubai Patel, from India, who told me his name

meant peasant or farmer. That's good enough for me!

The same respondents, however, in their desire to set me on the correct path,

totally missed the point of my post.

A person travelling on a false/ fake/ forged passport of any nation - Britain,

France, Germany, Thailand, even, cannot be attributed with any certainty as

being British, French, German or Thai!

If you want to argue with my last paragraph, go ahead.

Ramet reportedly used the name of Surachate to try and persuade immigration to release the suspect.

Surachate was once the chief of immigration.

I've commented several times before, that everyone knows he was the one on the take.

I guess they burn all the paper work on a weekly bases. Otherwise why would they need the same info again and again.

A bit like the buckets full of toiletries the monks receive as alms at the temple, back on sale next day to more happy customers.

We are not talking about "A random person" here.

The guy is known as British by the government there and that is why they

put are asking Interpol to help find him.

False passport or not, they know who he is.

Just an idea.

Ritesh Patel, 39, was arrested at the end of June with a fake British passport. It was discovered he was wanted in the UK and by Interpol on drugs charges.

His name makes him a prime candidate to become the next British PM, yet he's wasting his time in Thailand, bribing Thai police. 555

A drug dealer trying to curry favor.  One wonders if a bag was placed over his head to force him into paying the funds, but then was never granted his freedom that he wanted and was promised.....

Curry favour...Ritesh Patel

No- nothing like that at all. Gifts given as alms are not the same  as bribes given to evade the law.

I thought Big Joke was one of the clean officers when he took over CM immigration?

It is just a badly worded headline!

His name was apparantly "used" by one of the accussed during their ilegal activities!

He was caught with a fake British passport - therefore, he is not a British citizen, but pretending to be one.

Name sounds Indian, so probably an Indian masquerading as a British citizen would be more accurate.

Why?

From reporting he was wanted in the UK so was using a false passport to avoid authorities.
