Naew Na reported that Thais were gathering in numbers at the temple of Wat Mai Khok Marum where  auspicious logs are believed to be the answer to numbers for the lottery.

 

A ceremony was being carried out at the temple in Ang Thong province, central Thailand to show respect to the spirits of the Takhian tree. 

 

The lottery hopefuls were out of the sun and rain under a roof. 

 

Wichan, 64, organised for Bhramin rituals that divined the number 078 as well as 130, the number of the backhoe that moved the logs.

Naew Na reported there are 50 such logs at the temple.

 

Locals believe that if you find such logs on your property they should go to the temple as they are special.

 

They are inhabited by ancestors who can give you the lottery numbers, if you're respectful that is.

I took a long hard look at my auspicious log this morning in the hope of a few numbers but it was too far round the u-bend.
