STV 60 days from the UK

Featured Replies

I'm trying to help a friend obtain a 60 day tourist visa from the UK, the embassy visa website is confusing and out of date as it still refers to quarantine periods and medical insurance requirements.

is it possible to obtain a STV 60 days by post in the uk? anyone know a link to obtain further information?

many thanks for any help

A STV (special tourist visa) is not a single entry tourist visa (SETV).

The application has to be done online at https://thaievisa.go.th/ . Been the same for the UK since 2019.

It is done entirely online and they send the visa by email.

Yes, it is very confusing with contradictory information on different pages.  One page states the original requirements which were pretty straightforward but when you do the online application, as you have said, you get all the guff about declarations, £5k in the bank for three months, covid insurance, pre-paid accommodation etc.  It is a complete mess but the only way of applying.

For 60 days in Thailand ( plus the possibility of an extension 30 days easily done ) isn’t it better to apply for a 60 day tourist visa ? That’s online and maybe easier.

thanks for the advice, i think a 60 day tourist visa sounds the way to go, and, hopefully, looks easy to obtain online

Yes, it's easy peasy.

Is it ?

I heard they want hotel reservations for the entire length of your stay and a confirmed flight in and out of the country.
