Popular Post madmitch
Whilst Muay Thai may be a welcome addition to the Olympics, I rather think that Prawit may not be as influential within the IOC as the OP seems to think. Not exactly an advert for Thai sport, is he? 1

Popular Post khunjeff
Neither Prawit nor the Thai government has any authority to introduce new sports into the Olympics, so the headline is pretty misleading - "plans to request the introduction of Muay Thai" would be more accurate, if less bombastic.

Bkk Brian
Actually there's every likelihood that it will as it received full recognition by the IOC a year ago. https://hypebeast.com/2021/7/kickboxing-muay-thai-and-sambo-receive-full-olympic-recognition-news
ikke1959
They wished the could influence that, but it is the decision of IOC to introduce a new sport on the Games, The sport new sport needs several criteria to be an Olympic sport...
SoilSpoil
Interesting Netflix series about the Muay Thai gambling rings. Not really an Olympic sport imho.https://www.netflix.com/th-en/title/81579645
Stupooey
One would hope that by 2028 the human race would have advanced enough to exclude all violent sports from the Olympics, as opposed to introducing another one.
bang saen guy
What sports would that leave? Table tennis? Maybe you can go with Prawit and demand your idea. Edited July 29, 2022 by bang saen guy
