Vietnamese Workers Arrested in Pattaya Salon Raid
File photo for reference only In a recent raid on a beauty salon in Pattaya, Thai Tourist Police arrested several Vietnamese nationals for illegally working in a profession reserved for Thai citizens. The operation, led by Police Lieutenant Colonel Piyapong Raksa, took place on Tuesday, February 4, following local tips about foreign workers at a salon on the railway road near Soi Nern Plub Wan. Arriving during business hours, officers found the foreign nationals providing hairdressing services. After presenting their identification, the police requested to speak with the manager. A Thai female employee assisted the officers in reviewing the workers' documents. Pol. Lt. Col. Piyapong confirmed that the workers were Vietnamese and explained that hairdressing is a restricted occupation in Thailand, leading to their arrest. The Vietnamese nationals were later handed over to investigators for further legal proceedings. -- 2025-02-06 -

90 Day Report - Name printed incorrect on receipt from Jomtien Immigration
I'm guessing possibly. So the solution is either go back to immigration now and get it amended, then hope the online works next time. Or wait and see. I know what I would do. Yes. That is my experience. -

GOP support for Musk influence with Trump falls dramatically: Poll
Hmm, so all government spending funded by tariffs? Countries will eventually find other trading partners unencumbered by tariffs, so the money will dry up. I'm not sure whether the USA can actually supply anything that is absolutely not available elsewhere in the world, so your exports would be more vulnerable to retaliatory tariffs. Oh dear, more sources of money will dry up. The US dollar is the world's majority currency, because much trade involves the US, and is conducted in dollars. If that trade diminishes (as it will with tarrifs) then the relevance of the dollar as a global currency will reduce. -

DWP life certificate.
Trust me, they do. I have been involved (not directly!) in 30+ British deaths in Thailand. DWP knew before we advised them - infact we stopped bothering to advise them in the end as they were already on the case. I don't recall any of the deceased receiving more than one pension payment after the date of their death. The requirement in Thailand is to obtain a release from the embassy before a body can be released from the hospital for cremation. In the event of the death being at home (ie not in hospital) the police must be informed within 24 hours..
