The tourism industry in this country is no where near fully recovered. Everyone on the ground that has also been here before covid can attest to this. Covid in Thailand is set to be endemic by October. Land borders are open. If you want to stay in Thailand for cheap, you can do border hops, as in pre-covid times. If I can get an extension at Songkhla that would be pretty good, but it's a bit of an effort from here.
