Thirty two TONS of drugs destroyed - it was all worth 29 BILLION baht

Thai Rath reported on the destroying of thirty two tons of drugs seized in 120 cases. 

 

Heavily armed commandoes stood by. 

 

Guest of honor among several invited guests to help with transparency was Food and Drug Administration secretary general Dr Phaisan Dankhum. 

 

The drugs were destroyed in processes at the Akkhie Prakan company in Bang Poo, Samut Prakan. 

 

Among the drugs were 21,270 kilos of Ya Ba (meth mixed with caffeine), 9,396 kilos of "Ice" (crystal meth), 561 kilos of heroin, 89 kilos of ecstasy and 278 kilos of opium.

 

The value of all the drugs destroyed was estimated at 29 billion baht.

Again, such a stupid number.

Will the drug lords now miss 29 billion in their bank accounts?

Is that the wholesale price for tons of drugs? Or did someone take the street price for a gram and multiply that amount by a lot?

Hence them being caught in Thailand, and then burnt in Thailand.  You haven't discovered something new.  Just saying.

The BIB and the army are the biggest mafia organizations in Thailand.  They would never let an opportunity like this to profit pass them by.  Who checked that the actual drugs were incinerated?  The BIB and the army of course.
