"Slaughterhouse" Remark Sparks Legal Action at Khon Kaen Hospital
+1 Here’s the “because…” part of the plan—the rationale—which was missing or not fully activated: Preventing misunderstanding through structured, low-cost communication mechanisms helps reduce emotional escalations and reputational risk. It aligns ethically with patient-centered care and makes fiscal sense by lowering the chances of legal fallout. No, I’m not writing a book on it. What has been written here hits the point perfectly, no need for a book. And no, I’m not submitting a policy proposal about proactive communication in critical care. Just stating what should be obvious. -

Motorbike Plunges into Canal – No Rider Found, Only Meth Pills
Picture courtesy of Workpoint A mysterious incident in Phrae province unfolded late evening on 17 April, when a motorbike was found crashed in a dry irrigation canal, with no rider in sight, but a stash of methamphetamine pills discovered at the scene. At around 20:00, Pol. Lt. Col. Somkiat Kobkam, Deputy Investigation Inspector at Sung Men Police Station, received a report of a motorcycle crash on the road connecting Sung Men Hospital to Ban Ton via Phra Luang. The crash occurred near a railway construction site in Moo 5, Phra Luang Subdistrict, Sung Men District. Rescue workers and local police officers from the Phra Luang checkpoint, part of a Songkran road safety operation, were quickly dispatched to the scene. They discovered a white Kawasaki Ninja motorbike lying overturned in the dry canal. Although there were traces of blood, no person was found nearby. A shoulder bag was discovered close to the motorbike. Upon inspection, officers found a national ID card and two blue plastic sachets containing approximately methamphetamine pills. Both the motorbike and the drugs were seized as evidence. Authorities believe the rider, likely injured in the crash, fled the scene under the cover of darkness to avoid arrest. Local witnesses reported seeing a young man climbing out of the canal and walking away hurriedly. Police suspect the individual involved was using the Songkran festival period as an opportunity to traffic drugs. Investigators are now working to identify and locate the suspect, believed to be the owner of the ID card found in the bag. -- 2025-04-19
