What is obvious is Judge Cannon's naivety and lack of knowledge about US National Security.

 

She ordered the FBI to stop it's investigation yet she said that the Intelligence Community could continue with its separate evaluation of the documents

 

She does not understand that the work of both these agencies is inseparably linked, and the FBI is an integral part of the Intelligence Community.

She is a member of the Federalist Society and a Trump appointee who at her selection stated that she would always recuse herself, if there was any hint of conflict of interest. She is also obliviously out of her depth. Should she really be giving judgement on this case?

"Trump “does not and could not assert that he owns or has any possessory interest in classified records; that he has any right to have those government records returned to him; or that he can advance any plausible claims of attorney-client privilege as to such records that would bar the government from reviewing or using them,”"

 

In other words, Trump stole this material.  He has no right to demand it be reviewed, with the possibility of it being returned to him.

I had to laugh at the reason why the judge wanted to appoint a special master to review the documents. It was her concern of unnecessary "reputational harm" to Trump.

The doctrine of fruit of the poisonous tree refers to evidence used against someone that was acquired illegally It's dubious that the Justice Dept would use Trump's health record, passports, tax records, or articles of clothing against him as evidence.

As for the existence of Trump's  get-out-of-jail-free-documents, this sounds like the fevered talk that infests extreme right wing sites.

Got great news for you. Rick Scott has introduced impeachment resolution last year. Yes last year and those GOP nuts like Green will continue to provide the comedy and keeping pushing weak impeachment effects. The truth at hand is that Merrick Garland is doing his work by the book; legal and lawful. Political parties don't generally launch a crusade against the nation's chief law enforcement official for NO reasons. Since the govt affords former Potus expenses and salary for a office and its “administration” expenses  under the “Former Presidents Act” , I think it’s more than reasonable that both pay.
It was the govt who conducted a unprecedented search on the property that is helping pay for the office of a former Potus..

Some experts have said they should of carried on negotiations  with the office of the former .

The Cause was not the "unprecedented search,"  That was The Effect. Trump taking records he should not have was The Cause.

That was a reasonable request and I'm glad the judge granted it. But the burden for paying for it falls on the person who requested it, Trump. Not the government.

 

The DOJ has been very clear: since the request was made: They neither wanted nor needed a Special Master.
