I had something similar in Pattaya,  more massage than anything close shop I basically until I got a recommendation search and trail by error. 

Not everyone the same many self trained even those can become good with experience. Some actually have good to school to learn through experiment massage hoW they good about you learn.

Couldn't tell you where it was in Phuket town, opposite a school I believe on the way to a outside car park, there was a sign advertising a blind masseur.

I'd been suffering from neck and shoulder pains, and he certainly helped on that occasion.  He seemed to know his stuff, not the same as your average massage.

 

Not too far from "The Charm" restaurant if that helps.

I go to Heart Massage, recomended by my yoga teacher. it is Tok Sen, a northern technique. I did wonders for my jaw and neck.

It is a massage with a wooden hammer, at 4 hands. 800 B for 90 minutes.

Normal Thai massage also there at 300 Baht. Husband said is its good, deep massage.
