Investigation underway as police determine death of boy at Nonthaburi school was a shooting

Police in Nonthaburi north west of the Thai capital Bangkok were investigating the death of a M3 pupil at a school in Bang Bua Thong.

 

The boy was aged 13 and after initial suspicions that the death was caused by a computer malfunction it has now been determined that he was shot.

 

Thai Rath quoted bang Bua Thong police chief pol Col Prit Jamroonsat as saying that the gun was brought into school by a pupil.

 

It is not sure yet whether the shooting was accidental or deliberate.

 

The evidence so far was pointing to an accident.

 

Parents, social services, prosecutors and police were all involved in the interrogation of 11 witnesses last night.

 

Four are expected to face charges including the person who brought the gun in, someone who moved it and two others.

 

Other Thai media suggested the gun was a so-called pen-gun, a much less powerful weapon than a regular gun but one which can kill nonetheless. 

 

Elsewhere the school was named as Lat Pla Duk with the victim being a 15 year old boy called Noppsail who suffered a deep, long fracture to his left eyebrow.

how can a 15 year old one get a gun in the first place....and why has nobody noticed it in school, nor friends, or teachers ?? Sad that a life is lost again for an accident which was not necessary.. Is Buddhism not respect for all living things?? Than guns are not needed

How can it be possible to assume it was an accident when a gun was brought to school?  Can they think that the gun was brought accidentally, or without reason?

Wait..What !? Theres a big difference between a "Computer malfunction" and being shot! How did Thailand's finest solve this perplexing case ? Perhaps the bullet in his torso gave it away!

....and this is the first time I've ever hear of a 'computer malfunction'  being blamed for a death. unless he chopped the wires off and stuck 220 Volts up where the sun don't shine. ????

Seven minors summoned for interrogation following shooting incident at school

 

 

Seven minors were summoned for interrogation at the Bang Bua Thong District Police Station in Bangkok on Friday, September 16th, following the case of a 14-year-old student who was reportedly shot by his friend at a school’s computer room on Thursday.

 

On Thursday afternoon, a schoolboy was reportedly shot by his classmate while he was reportedly showing off his shotgun in the computer room. However, the gun reportedly slipped from the friend’s hand onto the computer keyboard, firing by accident, and therefore caused the incident.

 

According to the police’s initial interrogation, the weapon was a handmade Thai firearm and no conflicts were reported to be a trigger of the incident. The gun reportedly belonged to a friend in the group. After the incident, none of them attempted to flee but they attempted to hide the gun. About 11 people, including students, involved in the case were under police custody, insisting that they did not intentionally cause the incident.

Thailand is a Buddhist country in name only. Temples are run solely as a business and it is abundantly clear that with the level of violence reported daily on this site there is far too often little no no respect for life of any kind.

According to the BKK Post (I am not permitted to link the article), it was a home made single shot pistol of .38 calibre.

 

One child was reportedly playing/showing off with it, when he dropped it onto a computer keyboard and it went off.

 

Being home made it most probably had no safety catch, the only safety being if the hammer is against the cartridge and the gun is not cocked. It is just as dangerous to the user as it is to the victim.

 

What makes me wonder, is how the hell can a 14 year old boy get the gun in the first place. At that age I don't think that he has the skills to make it and all over Thailand there must be little workshops turning out this murderous stuff cheaply.

TBH I have no idea.

 

The last time I handled a gun, was an SLR 7.62 mm rifle in my last year in the RAF back in 1983.

 

Nasty evil things whose sole purpose is simply to kill.

 

A gun of any type has no other purpose.

The kids tried the (slightly pathetic, but then they are really young kids) cover up, and the police found out the real story immediately. So, what exactly is your problem with Thailand's finest in this case? What would you have done or the finest of your country have done differently and presumably much better?

The keyboard bit comes from the teacher who phoned the police, the gun fell on the keyboard and damaged the keyboard, the kid/s hid the gun so the teacher thought it must have been the keyboard.

 

The cops should never have mentioned the keyboard, should have done their job first.

 

The gun was then thrown into a stream/river/canal by the kid/s. Its now been retrieved.
