Galare Guesthouse

Featured Replies

The Galare Guesthouse is our usual go to place when visiting Chiang Mai and we are planning on a visit 6th - 10th October .

It appears to be temporarily closed, from the internet, does anyone know if it’s for refurbishment or is it more permanently closed ?

The place looks partily derilict and overgrown.  Only one ground floor room appears occupied.  Website name is for sale.

Have to admit its been nearly 3 years since I last went but as it was always in demand i expected it to have weathered the pandemic ……. guess not !!

Shame, will search for similar.

Sorry to hear that. For many years Galare was my home when I visited CM. Very nice people, great location, good value. I haven't stayed there in maybe 5 years since I live here now but I always recommended them to visitors. Maybe the owner couple just decided to retire during covid. Wish them (and their employees) the best.

Had a walk by Galare today, it’s been bought out and currently being turned into the River View bar and restaurant.

Some rooms will be retained for possibly rent out at a later date but currently unsure.
