Popular Post webfact Posted September 21, 2022 Popular Post Posted September 21, 2022 By Erich Parpart Acting Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan said it was “normal” for the Cabinet to allocate emergency funding from the central budget worth 1.32 billion Baht for the Ministry of Defence to pay for wages of military personnel, even though such payments are budgeted in the regular fiscal year 2022 budget. “Why you asked?” Prawit replied to reporters when asked about the allocation. “This is normal,” he said without providing further explanation. The Cabinet on Tuesday approved a secret agenda to allocate an extra budget worth 1.32 billion Baht from the central budget for the Ministry of Defence to pay wages of military personnel within the army (760.45 million) and the air force (561.25 million).
