I can agree that the world is changing, but IMO the winner won't be the greedy, decadent, soft, bogged down in stupidities west.

If, as you believe, Thailand is choosing a side, IMO they are choosing the winning side.

Brush up on your Mandrin, China will rule the world of the future! Nihao ma!

There is a related question: Why does the USA "support" Ukraine with weapons from the USA for billions of dollars?

Do they do it because they love those freedom loving people? Or could it be possible that payments of billions to the American industrial military complex is the main reason?

But then, it sounds so much better on the news when politicians talk about helping people than sending millions to their buddies in the industrial military complex.

I guess the Russian industrial military complex wasn't as strong as they said it was. However they're doing a great job at supplying Ukraine for free, Moscow is by far the largest supplier of heavy weapons for Ukraine, well ahead of the U.S. or other allies in sheer numbers

Yes, they DO do it because they love those freedom loving people. The cynical explanation isn’t always the right one.

If anything, a more powerful Russia incorporating Ukraine would give the US Govt more reasons to increase spending on its “military industrial complex”.

It's funny that you put quotation marks around this: “military industrial complex”

Does this mean you somehow think it doesn't exist? Or why would you do that.

Military–industrial complex - Wikipedia

And who is "they" in your sentence: "Yes, they DO do it because they love those freedom loving people."

Are that all those politicians over there who can't even agree who won their last presidential election?

I put this in quotes as it’s a term used by leftists that seems to refer to only the military spending of the US, rather than that of any other country. It’s an unfortunate fact of life that countries have to waste vast amounts of resources on defence.

I don’t see the relevance of the dispute over the winner of the last US election. Just about all US politicians, with the exception of a few on either the most extreme left or the most extreme right, utterly despise Putin for the tens of thousands of people that he’s maimed and murdered.

China support Russia and daily headlines the Thai seem to rely on China as  the new super power is not far away

Mao set the 100 year marathon in 1949 when the communists took over, world dominance in 100 years ie. 2049, Little Mao (Emperor Xi) has just been reinstated for 10 years, he'll give it a good shake!

The way thousands of russians are fleeing the "draft" to russia military maybe thailand would get more russian "tourists" by welcoming this group....also i suspect it may well have a lot more to do with buying russian oil and gas than with tourists....Thailand has it's own dictator wannabe coup crew as well as Burma next door so it appears that the thai powers that be are fond of fellow dictators so they will support them regardless of invasions, killing off dissidents, etc.

They are welcome by this government; Russian planes are allowed to enter and leave Thai airspace, but that raises an interesting point, how does Putin feel about Thailand, welcoming 'draft' dodgers.

I agree, but this is a US-Russia conflict. European states are mostly minions.

It's a USA-UK-NATO-EU vs RU conflict and been going on since end of WW2.

Nothing has changed, and nothing will.

and what is wrong with that? Do you blame Switzerland for not taking sides in WW2?

Historically Switzerland has been the world haven as a politically natural and has hence been available to opposing sides in any conflict as an impartially and unbiased country to which peaceful ideas and solutions can safely be negotiated and agreed.
