Hello, 

during the last months, the USD got so strong agains alla currencies, JPY, UK pound, Chinese Renminbhi, etc.

 

Cambodia has this fixed rate of arond 1$=4100 riel

 

any idea how possible to keep it? why the other countries don't do the same?!

 

Just wondering if we are going to see son a free exchange, where probably the Riel would lose 30/50%

It's a Bit of a mystery. Most Cambodians don't use banks. 

The economy has faded because of covid and they have lost trade benefits because of the human rights record.

I forgot to say that I had this doubt, after moving some money to Cambodia and made 1 year fixed deposit in Khr, which gave higher rate than USD
