leaving my job and have to drop my passport and work permit off at work to be cancelled in Bangkok. In the meantime I need to go to Udon so obviously won’t have my passport with me.
Would a photocopy of the passport be enough for boarding?

Do you have any other photo ID that you show along with your passport? Normally the will accept any photo ID.

Yeah, my driving licence (EU) and my 2nd passport (not the one i entered Thailand on)

Thai driving license will suffice. Foreign license will not. That was my experience anyway with ThaiSmile. Other PP will be fine.

Use your 2nd passport as they will check on ID only and not on the visa ...... The EU license might be difficult, as Somchai has never seen anything like that. What definitely works is a Thai driving license, so if you have the latter then Bob is your uncle!

I recently got rejected by air asia on my flight Bkk to Chiaddng mai..

I showed my thai drivers licience ,which has my passport no.etc.

I also showed a photocopy of my passport and visa..

They would not check my in.

I was so utterly disgusted and <deleted> off...i just gave up..

My friend checked  in with his passport..

Disgraceful effort by zombie staff..

Sorry to hear that, it was really harsh... Last month I flew Phuket-BKK-Phuket, both flights with my Thai license no problem, but it was VietJet, not AirAsia... it's crazy that different airlines has different rules.
