"Ko-iaw" - owner of well known Pattaya pub arrested - Chinese man pretended to be Thai

Siam Rath reported on the arrest of a Chinese man who is the owner of a well known pub in Banglamung, Pattaya.

 

He is 45 year old Nitiphat also known as Iaw or Ko-iaw. 

 

He's Chinese and police claim that he illegally adopted Thai ID back in February of last year.

 

Banglamung station chief Pol Col Niphon Pomsanam said that an arrest warrant for the suspect was issued by the local court on Monday.

 

Also arrested was Bank, 46, an executive of the pub.

 

The governor of Chonburi has denied knowing the main suspect.

 

Quarrels developed earlier as police raided the pub and tried to give urine tests for drugs to 200 patrons.

 

Ko-iaw apologised for being drunk after consuming a large quantity of wine and using bad language. 

 

The raid was part of many search warrants and investigations throughout Bangkok and the provinces yesterday.
