The shops' licences and products were inspected ahead of the Yi Peng/Loy Krathong celebration from next Monday to Wednesday. There are bans in place for setting off fireworks and launching lanterns in several areas to protect the public from harm. Forbidden areas are the area of the Chiang Mai municipal offices grounds and opposite Wat Sri Khong.
