Gen Prawit: No tolerance against officials’ involvement in human trafficking

BANGKOK (NNT) - Deputy Prime Minister Gen Prawit Wongsuwan said the government does not tolerate any involvement in human trafficking by government officials. Those found guilty will face harsh punishments.

 

Gen Prawit’s remark was delivered at a meeting of the Coordinating and Monitoring of Anti-Trafficking in Persons Performance Committee (CMP Committee). The meeting acknowledged the outcomes of anti-trafficking operations, as the outcomes will be published as part of the Trafficking in Persons report for Thailand this year.

 

The committee on this occasion considered establishing an ad-hoc subcommittee on the administration and monitoring of cases related to trafficking victims, chaired by Royal Thai Police Deputy Commissioner General Pol Gen Surachate Hakparn.

 

Gen Prawit urged high-ranking officers to ensure none of their subordinates are involved in human trafficking.

 

He stressed that the operations against human trafficking must take into consideration the mental health of the victims, adding that government agencies must work more collectively with NGOs and international organizations on this matter.

 

Thailand has seen an increase in arrests and prosecutions related to human trafficking cases. Gen Prawit said this growing number reflects the effort and performance of anti-trafficking operations, as Thailand is committed to fully eradicating human trafficking in order to gain acceptance from the global community in this regard.

How many times is this verbal diarrhea spouted whilst totally ignoring the business people heavy industry such as in the fishing industry , construction and pineapple industries, who prey on illegal immigrants every month of every year with no blow back. Remember during covid, when a lot of the illegal immigrants were dumped on the sides of roads without help and the scum that dumped them still continue using and abusing illegal immigrants to this day. That Prawit is the human trafficking that you see but choose to ignore.

What about those mass graves at the malaysian border with some 2000 rohingya smuggled by thai army and then murdered if families did not pay ransom?

Out of some 800 suspects in the beginning of investigation only 80 faced music. 
The main police investigator had to do runner to australia and claim political refugee status, because prawit gave him transfer order from safe bangkok to songhla province at malaysian border, for certain death. That was just a few years ago. Prawit was responsible for ministry of interior.

Name me one employer/company boss that has been jailed for employing illegals?

Now try and tell me again you're committed to eradicating human trafficking..

It is public knowledge that many officials, all the way up to the top, make millions, if not billions of baht with their involvement in all kinds of trafficking, be it human, drugs or wildlife. There will be token arrests and ‘crackdowns’, but nothing will really change, because there is simply too much easy money at stake.

If a crackdown was to occur the people who would be indicted would be low down pleebs who would act as scapegoats.  None of the Generals would be held accountable even though they take the biggest share of the money.
