I'm pretty sure most MAGA cultists would prefer mid to late 50's. USA lily white, non-whites safely kept in their place, all non-heteros safely hidden away in their closets, women in the kitchen etc.

In other words, they be trippin'

Fox News Pundits Admit ‘Red Wave’ Turned Into ‘Absolute Disaster’

"“We have the worst inflation in four decades, the worst collapse in real wages in 40 years, the worst crime wave since the 1990s, the worst border crisis in U.S. history, we have Joe Biden who is the least popular president since Harry Truman, since presidential polling happened, and there wasn’t a red wave.

That is a searing indictment of the message that we have been sending to the voters. They looked at all of that and looked at the Republican alternative and said, ‘no thanks.’”"

It may not be a "red wave", but any win, no matter how small for the GOP, is a disaster for Biden's agenda.

I'm disappointed they didn't do better but such is life.

If there were some suggestions that MAGA stole the vote and won (through deception) , would you still accept the result ?

Actually, there were a few suggestions along that line in 2016. They were quickly and clearly debunked. Nothing at all like the persistent and widespread conspiracy theory so popular among Republicans. It's not enough that there are suggestions. It's who those suggestions are coming from and the evidence to support it. As has been noted, Giuliani and company even confessed that they didn't have the evidence to take to court. Of course, that wasn't what they claimed publicly.

It looks like Trump saved the Dems from a disaster. I hope he will be the GOP candidate in 2024 (if he's not in jail).

Party at Trump's tacky palace not hardy!

What a loser.

Trump's Mar-a-Lago Midterms Party Falls Flat As GOP Falls Short (businessinsider.com)

Trump midterm results-night party at Mar-a-Lago fell flat as candidates he endorsed fell short of victory

Democracy was on the ballot this time with the party of trump representing fascism, and happily democracy is still breathing!

I'm surprised but of course pleased. The vulnerability remains though.

No retribution but there certainly needs to be accountability.  If there's no consequence for criminal activity then it will just continue.  MAGA candidates are focused on making sure accountability happens.

We saw how much MAGA people like accountability in their response to the search and seizure of illegally kept Presidential Records.

I think it's a combination of several factors that prevented the predicted blue wave from happening:

1. trump. Even many conservative voters have had enough.

2. SCOTUS, more specifically the lying bunch of ultra-conservatives that ended Roe v. Wade.

3. GOP fielding lots of candidates that only the most brainwashed MAGA cultist would consider voting for ( Herschel Walker being a prime example).

Really? A red ripple instead of a wave would still be a disaster for President Biden's agenda?? Gotta hand it to you; you're definitively a glass half full kind of a guy!:clap2:

MAGA candidates are actually about putting people in key positions where they can control the vote counting and rules processes to make sure only MAGA candidates ever win any future elections, whether they actually win more votes or not. Yes that would be killing American democracy. It's a fascist, anti-democracy movement without any doubt.

So conspiracy theories are OK to distribute again?

Absolutely. Without a house majority he won't pass what's left of his agenda. A ripple is all that's needed.

Also, all those "get Trump" committees go away.

GOP needs 15 to win a majority in the house, Dems 31. Senate is a toss up and it's going to be a while till we know that result.

For sure, a lot of nail biting in back rooms.

I agree that Trump has fallen short and I doubt not that a lot of people will be advising him to not run in 24. IMO that's the best way to win back the white house, and the GOP has 2 years to find the man to do the job.

Even if he does decide to go for it, he needs to convince the money men to front the cash, and pass the primaries. I won't predict that he can't do it, but I err on the side of unlikely.

Apparently so.

Wonder where all the MAGA hordes wreaking violence that was predicted by the ant Trump fear mongers got to? Seems rather quiet on the "white supremacist" ( LOL ) front.

Perhaps now all the ranting about the "death of democracy" silliness will go away and the perpetrators of that conspiracy theory will take a step back and shut it.

Exactly where did you see predictions of MAGA hordes wreaking violence?

Regarding the death of democracy; let's see how many of the losers accept that they lost, and see what damage the election deniers who won will attempt to do in office.

I sincerely join you in the hope that the Republicans in the House do just that. As the elections showed, candidates who adhere to conspiracy theories about the elections and other issues, managed to alienate much of the electorate and fared far worse than others. Bring the lunacy on!

It's certainly looking really good for a resounding victory for the GOP.

This could indeed be the beginning of the return of the man that the Dems fear the most.

Will he be 47, or still 45?

It must be looking bad for the Democrats, as the local biased and woke radio station where I live just said that it could be disastrous for the Democrats. They hate Trump, and IMO this election is as much about Trump and his policies as it is about what the Democrats have done wrong in the past 2 years.

Being a bit opportunistic here?

"Trump is IMO so last year. However, I get that some just can't stop chewing on an old bone."
