More than 900,000 foreign and Thai tourists visited Phuket since May 1st.

 

The Phuket Immigration Chief Colonel Thanet Sukchai told the Phuket Express. “From May 1st to November 27th, the total number of all nationals’ visitors is 934,164. Of those 914,746 are foreigners and 19,418 are Thai visitors.”

 

Meanwhile the Phuket Walking Street Sunday Market, also well known as ‘Laad Yai’ is still full of Thai and foreign tourists every week.

Huh?????only 20.000 Thai visitors  in 6 months in Phuket with all the holidays in these months??

I reckon those numbers are Thais returning internationally via Phuket.

Its still very, quiet around Naithon Beach, really quiet. Bang Tao seems to have more bodies ... I seem to be hearing more Russian, Danish, Swedish and other Euro language and accents there of late.

Immigration has no idea how many people visited Phuket, and shouldn't be speaking on the matter. All they know is how many passengers landed on the island on international flights or via marine vessels from abroad, which is a completely different statistic.
