She is thick even a black activist who was born in UK with any sense and asked by a stranger where you from would realize what is being asked of them and answer in an appropriate way.

Does she have to tugg her forelock whilst answering?

No I won't post a link, I don't have a specific link. The whole point of something being in the public domain is that it does not need a link, it is clearly discernable.

She went to the event, dressed, coiffed and assuming a name all of which had the very obvious effect, intentional or not, of presenting herself as an African.

That is in the public domain is it not?

As for being a fraud, well doing all that and then expressing outrage at someone presuming, in the face of such pretty overwhelming evidence, that she was African seems pretty fraudulent to me.

Expand

Your exact words were 'Finally, and I mention this because it has previously been raised in the public domain, the financial accounts of her charity ,"Sistah Space", apparently make "interesting reading". I suspect that she is a fraud. I rather suspect that Lady Hussey thought so to. Does having such a suspicion make me a racist?'

At least own up to your accusations which are VERY obviously that she is some sort of financial fraud and NOT about how she presented herself.

As she is British, she did answer in the appropriate way.

Some of those here seem to expect the black woman to provide extra deference because she was being questioned by a white woman. Such is the ingrained sense of white entitlement here.

Will you all stop trying to make out that this woman is some dodery old biddy who knows no better. She is the daughter of the 12th Earl Waldegrave, Her brother is a former Conservative cabinet minister. Her late husband, was a former chairman of the BBC.
She is NOT your average 83 year old.

And now knows a woman who used to be named Marlene who now wears dreadlocks and denies her African ethnicity who is now appearing on every media outlet possible.

Link to where she denies her African heritage. I'm sick of this BS.

She wear dreadlocks because she’s Rastafarian (a recognized religion) and where does she deny her ethnicity? Like many, many black, Indian, Pakistani and Asian Brits, she’s British and said so many times.
This idea that colour denotes nationality is where you and many on here get it wrong.

They provide specialist advice and advocacy for African and Caribbean women, as well as anyone who needs it. Nothing to see here. Never was and you know it. Nobody with half a brain cell thinks this was a charity set up to only help black women. The motive is clear, to gratuitously demean a black woman.

Expand

Can you show the link to demonstrate the as well as anyone who needs it bit?

But she might have been putting on an accent at the meeting to go with the rest of the African get up, despite your 'research'. The women is clearly and activist and a trouble making race baiter

Or even more plausible, she was born and raised in Hackney.
You’re losing this argument badly when you purposely avoid the obvious to try and stigmatize someone you obviously don’t like.

Oh dear, how sad, nev.....   well you know the rest.

Real name Marlene Headley.

So she adopts an Aftican name, wears African clothing incorporating the flag then screams RACIST when someone presumes she might have African heritage.

Rumours on social media that investigations into her charity finances might not end well. Let's wait and see on that one.

Either way she has royally screwed the OAP. Excuse the pun.

Exactly what are my "leanings"?

Oh come on! Anyone quoting Nigel Farage in a discussion about race and/or ethnicity has a leaning towards white nationalism and/or outright racism.
Are you saying you don’t?

It is not an argument, the woman pretends to be African and is offended when it suits her agenda if somebody thinks she might be what she wants to be seen as. If she was a genuine Rasta she would have the grace not to have been a drama queen over nothing, not even a real rasta, more a dread, if you know what that means.

Considering I had to educate you on it, it’s amazing how much of an expert you’ve suddenly become.

I lean against racism also, but I support nationalism. But am against any kind of supremacists.

Correct me if I am wrong and I could be having gone thru a a lot posts, but did you say on one occasion that you thought Farage was a white supremacist or at least he supported them?

I have Irish blood on my fathers side.

If I turned up in London at a charity event for Irish soldiers, dressed like a leprechaun and claiming my name was Paddy Mcmurphy I would totally expect a resignation from anyone who assumed I had Irish heritage.

And I'd wear a mic, just in case.

Racism and white supremacy are bed-fellows. If you don’t think Nigel Farange is either one or both then I don’t really know what to say to you.
