Daily News Thai Caption: Opposing release of shooter

Daily News reported that 100 parents of children at a school in Ranong in the south of Thailand gathered to oppose the release of a man who shot multiple times at the school on Sunday.

Earlier this week the man was arrested after firing 18 times from his adjacent property into the Ming Sin school. He was angered by noise coming from the school that teaches children of Chinese descent.

He has been charged with matters relating to an air-rifle and causing alarm.

The parents gathered after the suspect's lawyer was believed to have lodged a bail application.

Parents said they feared their children would be attacked again with some saying they would keep their children at home next week if he was released.

More parents were expected to come to the entrance of the road leading to the prison as the protests intensified last night.
