Trouble after big lottery win! Former monk has 2 baht left from his 6 million baht windfall after marriage

Sanook Thai Caption: 6 million baht all gone

Sanook reported on the continuing developments in the case of a monk in Buriram, NE Thailand, who won the lottery on August 1st.

Mile or Phra Mile as he was then known, defrocked himself and got married after winning 6 million baht.

But his mum Orn found out this week that there was just 2 baht in his account after his wife took out the last 480,000.

There was a massive rumpus at her house when Mile arrived to get back a six wheel truck loaded with sound equipment that he said he needed for a New Year parade.

But Orn refused to give it to him saying that one day he'll come crawling back to her after he ditches his wife. He'll need her help then.

She refused to give him the keys and he responded by saying hurtful things like he wouldn't cremate her when she's dead.

Sanook caught up with Mile at his wife's house and he was contrite - apologizing for his outburst against his mother.

But he said that she was wrong that his wife of three months had fleeced him.

All the things they bought were in his name and the 480K was mostly unspent and in the control of his wife.

The wife didn't want to get involved in the spat between son and mum.

She was reportedly dripping in gold - necklace, bracelet and diamond ring - all part of the former monk's dowry to her at their wedding.

I guess he was not very smart. Back to the monkhood then! ????

A fool and his money.......... spring to mind.

Brilliant, true romance, daft <deleted>. ????

Son, always listen to your Mum, they are never wrong.

So much for his former devotion to the monkhood!

A fool and his winnings are soon parted.
