Is there a minimum balance to keep the account open.?

Wise -in the regular 'Transfer' way-is not a bank.

 

 

I don't keep any funds in Wise.

I just set up the transfer on the app or website, (They won't send their money to your account until they get your's.), then transfer from my bank acc to theirs. They send acknowledgement that they have received my money and that they will start their transfer.

 

Of course. If you have one of their multi currency accounts with debit card you can keep money there, 

You don’t need to keep a balance with wise. When you are ready to send money just fund the transfer from another bank account via credit card, debit card, online transfer etc etc etc

As said you can transfer directly from other banks/cards or into Wise account for future transfer (can be faster as money already available).  Setting up account does not seem to be hard (they do automatically if you request scheduled transfers).  You can also use account for retirement direct payments and then transfer when you want.  I do not believe there is any requirement to have funds in account once set up.
