Police raided a reportedly unlicensed pub in Sisaket province and found over 40 pub-goers who were still underage.

The unnamed venue located in the Pho subdistrict of Mueang district, Sisaket, was still packed with pub-goers although it was already past the legal closing time for night venues, according to Sisaket police.

The officers ordered the pub operators to turn off the music and examined each individual’s identity card. Once finished, over 40 people appeared to be minors under the age of 20 years old, police found.

I'm nearby and it appears alcohol selling times are not a rule that's followed.    I would have to expected deug tests at the bar.   I bet that bar owner is in trouble with some of the parents.   Why no mention as to what happened to all the minors?  I would think they couldn't legally let any kids drive home?

Are there any legal closing times for unlicensed venues?

If it is illegal, then any minute it opens in illegal.

And what will the authorities do? They can't take away a not existing license.

Is that one more of these pubs which have no license for years but somehow the authorities must have forgotten to check that - for years...

Obviously there are no harsch consequences. So why should the venues care. It is somehow bad for the law enforcers. They waste their time for nothing. For sure a frustrating experience.

Seems the story should have included "the officers called parents or guardians to come pick up!". Or your child will be in detention center tomorrow.

Police can go to any pub in vicinity of a university and they will find many people under 20 years old.

Next up: Police surprised to find prostitutes in Pattaya.

And unlicensed?

I wonder why RTP never noticed that when they collect the monthly rent?

No enforcement of rules and no consequences.... So who cares??? it is the money that counts... But start with severe punishments, as it is not the first case anymore

The best reason is never allow the entainment industry to open till 4 am until they have proven that this kind of situations never occur again.

Or... they send a message to the other venues to ensure envelopes are exchanged in a timely fashion.
