Thailand's health minister and DPM Anutin Charnvirakul was at Bangkok's main bus station yesterday to launch his own "Seven Deadly Days" of New Year safety drive.

 

Speaking from a podium that contained his anti DUI message Anutin jopined with other agencies at Mo Chit to tell drivers they were examples for the Thai people and must not drink and drive.

He was pictured giving one driver a breath test.

Then filled out a chit to say the driver was not drunk and signed it. 

 

Others held up placards saying: You won't get home if you drink and drive.

 

The minister also confirmed his anti-4am closing stance for pubs.

That would only make matters worse, he claimed. He advocates 2 am shutdown in tourist places, earlier elsewhere, reported Thai Rath.

 

He wants everyone tucked up in bed as soon as possible after the "countdown".

 

And is keen to make sure there is no spike in Covid infections too.
