Popular Post webfact
Daily News Thai Caption: Consumer rights? (Sign: When getting beverages please add ice - thank you sincerely) Daily News said there was huge comment online after a consumer advocate posted a picture of a sign at a convenience store in a gas station. The sign asked customers politely to add ice to their drinks at a vending machine in the store. It was semi-identified as being the "Fah Pump" in Chonburi. The message on the post was "we are customers - if we want to fill our glasses up with just drink then we will". Some posters commenting on the story said they had previous experience. One at the same store where they were told by the manager that he was not forcing anyone to put ice in their drinks. It was just a suggestion and entirely up to them. It was to avoid waste. Many netizens thought it was just a ploy to enhance the convenience store's profits. -- © Copyright ASEAN NOW 2023-01-14 - Cigna offers a range of visa-compliant plans that meet the minimum requirement of medical treatment, including COVID-19, up to THB 3m. Instead of a drink that's half a cup you get a full cup and if from the machine it's cold already. When I order a soda or drink i ask for the can, or bottle and a cup of ice....no waste there. Emdog
Stores pricing structure is developed in part on what amount of ice to drink ratio typically is. It's not a "scam" or "out and out con". I know some places in USA have drink price for with and price for without ice.

This is the idea. The machine should not provide it cold already so that you will be motivated to use the ice. I understand the shop owner somehow. He made a calculation with ice. But obviously some costumers are more clever than he thought.

thaibeachlovers
It's an old trick and not just in LOS. Buy a drink at the movies and it's ice to top of cup before any drink goes in. In 7 11 I always made a show of adding ice, though it was minimal.

And Subway and some other food chains have the same policy. As a matter of fact if you buy a bottled or canned drink at Subway, you can not ask for a cup.

Everywhere in Thailand That will be because they first make a hot americano and then add and "blitz" with ice to chill it. You are, not entirely unreasonably, paying for the extra process.

Tonic Water, Club Soda not bad for you if you find ones with low sodium content. Of course all junk food is potentially bad for one to drink or eat.
