Used car market in a jam as electric vehicles spark trouble
Why I always bought new here / TH, for a wee bit more. On the 5th new one already in 21 years. Complete opposite to my USA purchases, as only bought 1 new vehicle, and that was a work truck. If not needed dependability for work, probably would have passed on that. But it's a new dawn in TH, with cheaper & better vehicles from CN, along with the little price war going on. As pointed out in OP, sucks for 2nd hand sellers, though great for the consumer. A great time to pick up a new vehicle 👍 -

Feel sorry for AN posters who bought electric
While sales of electric cars are increasing globally, they remain significantly concentrated in just a few major markets. In 2023, just under 60% of new electric car registrations were in the People’s Republic of China (hereafter ‘China’), just under 25% in Europe,2 and 10% in the United States – corresponding to nearly 95% of global electric car sales combined. https://www.iea.org/reports/global-ev-outlook-2024/trends-in-electric-cars- 1

White Culture
Still you missing the point, why so many oppose Americans and American culture. I understand we got wealthy because of our politicians managed to make good trade and bilateral deals, also exchange of science, and production with our Alliance based on Nato Members post ww2. My wealth and freedom, is because we managed to make this Allie and treat each other with respect, but when one part start threatening the Alliance, make new standards and also manage to convince people it is all because Ysa and Americans, and without Usa, we are nobody, and should be grateful, because we made Americans disgusting rich and greedy. You are welcome -

Thailand's Economy Faces Heavy Economic Burden from Tropical Storms
FILe photo Thailand is grappling with escalating economic challenges as heavy rains and flooding wreak havoc across its provinces. Notably, tourist hotspots like Chiang Mai and Phuket are suffering, threatening the national economy. In northern Chiang Rai, flash floods and landslides triggered by Super Cyclone Yagi have inflicted significant damage. This storm, having ravaged Vietnam and bringing severe rains to Myanmar and Thailand, has left an indelible mark. The Federation of Thai Industries estimates an economic toll of up to 27 billion baht from the initial flooding wave. Subsequently, Lampang and Chiang Mai experienced flash floods from Tropical Storm Soulik. According to Krungsri Research, total losses from this year’s flooding could rise to 46.5 billion baht, equating to 0.27% of the country's GDP. Efficient disaster management by the government and proactive measures by the private sector, such as enhancing water drainage systems, could mitigate these impacts. The aftermath could be less severe than the devastating 2011 floods if precautions are in place, according to the research. The future economic burden also depends on how many storms from the Pacific Ocean will hit Thailand. “About nine storms are expected to develop in the Pacific, but only about 10% might make landfall in Thailand,” explains Seree Supratid, director at Rangsit University’s Climate Change Center. This uncertainty adds to the economic tension. Compared to countries like Vietnam, Thailand's geographical positioning provides some respite as it is less prone to direct impacts from super typhoons. Nevertheless, the nation cannot avoid heavy rains and consequential damage. Experts warn that severe flooding in Bangkok, the nation’s financial hub, could be catastrophic. Rising sea levels pose a long-term threat, and authorities are exploring strategies such as land reclamation to protect vulnerable areas, reported Thai PBS. Proactive planning and significant investment in disaster preparedness are crucial to safeguard Thailand's economic stability in the face of these recurring natural disasters. -- 2024-10-01 -

Feel sorry for AN posters who bought electric
My Mercedes gasoline powered vehicle started having electrical problems in year 2 at 5,000km. The continued until I got rid of the vehicle. My replacement gasoline powered BMW was in need of 150,000 baht worth of mechanical and electrical work in year 4 at 12,000 km. In the early days of automobiles, the horse was still faster and more affordable and reliable than automobiles. Electric vehicles are at he start of their industry life and to date have delivered far more reliability and sustainability than than the conventional automobiles did in their prime of life from 1950-2000. The year on year advances of electric vehicle technology are much greater than what was seen and still seen with conventional vehicles. Electric vehicles may not be appropriate as a replacement for 100% of the conventional market, but if they can be used to replace 50-75% in the next decade, we will have made a tremendous impact in respect to air pollution and carbon emissions.- 2

The Republican Freak Show
I bet you like his plan to clean up crime, as noted in one of his bizarre weekend fascist rants. He said he'll let the police engage in wanton violence for a day and that would end all crime (so long as the cops don't go after convicted business felons, bank and insurance fraudsters, charity fraudsters, convicted sex offenders and thieves of highly classified documents). Maybe Thailand will do the same thing....let the cops run wild. For example, prostitution is illegal, so maybe Thai cops will eradicate Johns, who purchase the favors of Thai women. Sound good to you? I mean, the law is the law, and prostitution is illegal in Thailand.
