Accident Lamphun: 13-Year-Old Student Killed in Motorcycle Collision
Picture courtesy of Khaosod. A carsh has claimed the life of a 13-year-old schoolboy after a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle on a two-lane road in Lamphun province. The incident occurred at approximately 18:00 on 3 July, on the Jak Kam Phimuk–Ban Klang Thung Road in Rim Ping subdistrict, Mueang Lamphun district. Officers from the Lamphun City Police Station, along with rescue workers from the Khon Mueang Lamphun Rescue Association and medical personnel, were dispatched to the scene following reports of the fatal crash. Upon arrival, responders discovered the body of a 13-year-old boy lying motionless in the middle of the roadway. A blue Honda motorcycle with registration from Lamphun was found overturned nearby. The other vehicle involved, a Toyota pickup truck bearing the registration from Chiang Mai, was parked a short distance away. Police have initially transported the boy’s body to the hospital for formal procedures. The driver of the pickup truck has been taken in for questioning as part of the legal process. His initial statement was that that the youth was travelling at speed and veered head on into his vehicle. The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but there appears to be no other witnesses to the collision or CCTV covering the scene. Adapted by Asean Now from Khoasod 2025-07-04 -

Causes of the exponential increase in Thai obesity?
Dave Asprey explains why people get fat. Bad fats (ie unhealthy fats) destroy cells in the body. Then the body is no longer able to process the carbs such as rice and this leads to obesity and diabetes. So it's not the rice that's the root cause of the problem. But people go on Keto because their bodies can no longer process carbs. But keto is not ideal either.
