Siam Rath reported on a vicious attack on a husband and wife couple selling Khao Mok Kai, a chicken rice dish popular with Muslim people in particular.

 

It happened at Chumphon Station in southern Thailand at 10pm on the Bangkok to Sungei Kolok train.

 

Kanyarat, 27, was with her husband Worachai, 24.

 

She said that her family had been selling packaged meals for 20 years and with her husband she had been working the train that has a lot of Muslims aboard for the past 2 years.

 

They get on at the Pathew station buying a ticket for the ride.

 

On this occasion another couple started swearing at them saying they had the concession to sell and they didn't.

 

When they arrived at Chumphon the woman grabbed her arm then the man clapped his hands and 10 burly men arrived and attacked them further.

Her husband had wounds to his back and head.

 

She was kicked in the ribs. She said she is three months pregnant.

 

They were rescued by a soldier who was on the train and others who intervened as many passengers and people on the platform looked on.

 

She said she intended to prosecute fully.

 

Later a policeman from the Muang district police said they had received a report and gone to the station.

 

They had been baulked at first when they asked for CCTV footage but further evidence gathering has revealed who the attackers were and arrests are imminent.

The police said there is no mafia in Chumphon.

this needs verification. the woman would of made this known to the attackers 100% sure. if so these men need to be brought up on attempted murder charges.

Premeditated assault with intent to cause injury will do nicely.

They weren't asked about vigilantes.

Baulked when asking for CCTV footage? Why? Are workers at the station involved with the attackers?

Looks like the second couple got conned out of concession money.

Or maybe the first couple lost out to protection money.

What!? Somebody should tell these infants that having a franchise does not make them the only seller. It just means they have to be better. I guess they failed.

So just WHO issues and takes the money for a "concession'' on a train? Apart from this awful attack this is what the cops should be investigating but tit init.
